Menthon-Saint-Bernard Beach is a large municipal grass beach of 12,000 m² located on the eastern shore of Lake Annecy, at approximately 454 m altitude. It occupies a gently sloping triangular plot down to the lake, bordered by thick hedges and trees providing shade. Water access is via concrete areas across most of the beach, with a small band of grass and rocks on the southern side towards the harbour.
The beach has two swimming zones: a shallow paddling pool for children with games, and a deeper zone open to the lake. The bottom is made of small pebbles. The concrete installations facilitate water access and evoke natural swimming pools by the seaside. The beach is equipped with fixed and floating jetties, diving boards, several modern sanitary facilities with showers and changing rooms, as well as a large snack bar with indoor and outdoor seating offering fine views over the lake.
To the south, the Philibert d'Orlye promenade runs along the lake shore to Menthon harbour. Views extend to the Semnoz mountain range stretching across the water, Leschaux pass and Entrevernes mountain. During high season, the beach is supervised by lifeguards. Immediately nearby are the Cercle Nautique du Lanfonnet (sailing club) and Delphis diving school.
From Annecy (12 km, ~30 min in summer due to traffic), follow the D909a towards Talloires. Pass through Veyrier-du-Lac then enter Menthon-Saint-Bernard. In the village centre, follow signs for 'Plage' or 'Route de la Plage'. Recommended parking: Port Road (500 m walk). Two small parking areas immediately nearby often full.
